The Haben Property Fund team has been carefully built up over time to provide the full suite of services required to effectively manage properties in-house. The team consists of asset, centre, development and facilities management, leasing, marketing, accounts and general administration.


The team is headed up by its two principals, Harold and Ben Finger. Together, the principals bring property experience and skills which include investment, development, management and finance.

Director - Retail

Melissa has over 25 years’ experience working across a range of property sectors. Prior to joining Haben Property Fund, Melissa was a Director of MAK Property Advisors consulting in the property and funds management sector.  She has held senior management and executive positions within the retail and funds management sectors including as Fund Manager with SCA Property Group and Group Property Operations Manager and Group Manager Asset Services Group with Woolworths Group.  Melissa has held senior roles with both private and public sector companies and management positions in both Commonwealth and State Government property departments. Melissa has extensive experience in property investment, capital transactions, retail planning, acquisition, leasing and property management.  Melissa has worked with both retail and wholesale investors and was a Responsible Manager on the SCA Property Group AFS Licence.

Melissa serves on the national executive of the Property Funds Association and the retail committee of the Property Council of Australia, where she is also an active participant in the Property Council Academy, presenting and assessing in retail property and investment finance courses. 

Melissa has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Land Economics) from the University of Technology, Sydney and is a licenced real estate agent.  She is a member of the Real Estate Institute and Australian Institute of Company Directors. 

General Manager - Leasing

Simon is a retail property executive with over 20 years’ experience gained locally and internationally.  As General Manager of Leasing, Simon is responsible for the national leasing portfolio and strategic lease planning.

Prior to joining Haben Property Fund, Simon was Head of Real Estate for Home Consortium, owner of 40 ex-Masters hardware stores.  Simon’s role involved repositioning and remixing those assets into a combination of large format retail and neighbourhood centres.  Prior to HomeCo, Simon was Chief Development Officer with Guzman Y Gomez for Australia and New Zealand and a member of the leadership team. 

Simon has also worked for global landlords Westfield, Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) and HSBC Bank.  He is a strategic operative driven to maximise the yield of property assets and has a demonstrated ability to work with owners, tenants and retailers to remix retail portfolios and achieve investor goals.

Simon is actively involved in the property industry and until recently served on the Retail Committee of the Property Council of Australia for 3 years. 

Simon has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Property Economics) from Queensland University of Technology and is a licenced real estate agent. 

Asset Manager

As the Asset Manager at Haben Property Fund, Joshua leads the shopping centre teams and is responsible for providing operational excellence across the portfolio. He has full oversight over all financial milestones and ensuring best practice asset management is adhered to.

Joshua has circa 20 years’ commercial property experience, predominantly holding posts within the retail property industry. Prior to joining Haben Property Fund, Joshua worked with some of Australia's most respected shopping centre owners including Dexus Property Group, Macquarie Group and AMP Capital where he held various senior leadership positions.

Joshua holds a Masters of Business Administration (Management) and is passionate about the retail customer experience.
